I am Back from Bangkok

hihi....i am back last night ...flew by Tiger Airways (2h 20 mins)...not bad for a budget airline...at least no turbulence...however as it is a free seating procedure...kiasu singaporeans would line up early before the check in time in order to get best seats....sigh:( ....food on flight costs more expensive...so i smuggled my own drink and chips on board..hehhe :P

My Itineary for 5 days in Bangkok (8 dec to 12 dec):

Ist day
-flew by Tiger Airways @ 2.55pm
-reached Bangkok @5.30pm (bangkok time is 1 hr slower than singapore)
- went to Carrefour to shop via MRT (National cutural centre station)
- ate at the koptiam...they used cash card ...card got swopped without us realising....lost 128 baht:(
-bought things at carrefour...dun have 1 bht change...a Thai Chinese woman offered 1 bht...:)
-went by night market...took a look...saw a few "girls" , they are really pretty..whoah:P

2nd day
- went to Chatuchak market (mrt to Kamphaeng Phat station)
-spent half a day there... lots to see and buy...and lots to eat...delicious and cheap too:P
-it is a weekend market (10 am to 10pm)
-very hot and crowded as the day goes on..
-remember your cap, sunglasses and suntan lotion if you do not want to get sunburn
-can bargain especially if you buy more...
-went for body massage @ SPA 24 (mrt and BTS-light rail to Phrom Phong station)
-very privatised...price reasonable
-250 bht for 1 hr of body massage (est $10) cheap and good!!
-Thai body massage..involves a lot of stretching...helps your body release tension...

3rd day
-went to Pratunum (mrt and BTS to Chit Lom station)
-where there are market and wholesale shopping centre to shop...a bit like chinatown plus far east plaza..
-however walking from BTS station to Pratunum..is quite a distance..abt 15 mins walk..and also have to endure heat and pollution from bangkok jam...
better to go early morning ..when it is not so hot
-Thai King's birthday...falls around these days...so most locals wore yellow shirts and yellow bands in support of the King...(Thai's loyalty to the royal family is Amazing!)
-temples are almost everywhere in the street , even in front of big shopping centre..

4th day
-went back to Pratunum to shop
-then MBK (Mabukok) shopping centre ...where almost everything sells at 199 bht
-beggars/children /disfigured people are seen around begging...most locals just ignore ..some gave shillings out of pity...
-Tipping is common in thailand though not compulsory..
-Food are generally sweet for singaporeans..esp their desserts and drinks...it is best to drink their mineral water..
-went for foot massage @SPA 24 ..they did foot , head and shoulder..good!
-went to seafood restaurant for a meal of delicious abalone and sharkfins for only $20 person...cheap!
-transport in bangkok generally good..taxis are safe , they run by metre 35 bht($1.20)..good service too..they send u right to the stop where you want to go..even check for you..whether you are in the right place.:)

5th day
-stayed in hotel...and rested before flying back to singapore
-enough shopping!
