my H1N1 holiday

i just came back from japan, now self quarantined at home for the next 7 days (MOE says so). hahh a TRUE blessing in disguise!

if you asked me whether the flu situation is as bad in hong kong and japan...surprisingly you read more news on flu cases in HK then in japan. but still my plane to transit in hk has more singaporeans tagging children (not many wore masks unfortunately), while HK air crew wore masks every single moment ...
thus makes me wonder why HK is not included in the affected country list

on my plane to japan, the seats are not even half filled up.very few tourists...yap i and my frens are the few "DARING" ones who are courageous enough to step into a "FLU AFFECTED" area...
we expected a lot of japanese wearing masks, but ...
surprisingly few wore (they wore if they are having flu /cough).

i personally feel the level of hygiene in japan has dropped in my few days in tokyo. you can still see people in the city cough without covering their mouth.:(

with the highest greying population, the priority seats are also as ineffective as ours in singapore. you see few willing to give up their seats to an elderly on japan metro.:(

japanese are not environmental friendly, they gave lots lots lots of plastic bags!!! i bought 3 small stuff and the service provider gave me 3 plastic bags for each! :(

on the positive note, japanese now speak better english than before.(thank God!) from airport to people on the streets, younger japanese are more internationally influenced than before.and the most recent wave is the korean wave, you now see korean language in train stations, big shopping malls, airport. and you can buy korean food almost anywhere.

l also like the sign (NO SPEAKING ON HP ) on metro, people are expected to stay quiet , whispher or talk softly when necessary.
it would be great if singapore adopts this.talk about GRACIOUSNESS we are still a long way to follow.

back to H1N1 hols, so what do i do at home?
check mail, edit my photos ,cook dinner for hubby, watch old drama shows and eat my jap tibits :)

not so bad :)
