HAPPY 44TH BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!

the night of pariotism just over ,

i and my family truly enjoyed the NDP 2009 last night,

my bro participated in foot marching, we waited expectantly hoping to catch a glimpse of him...

nevertheless

it was heartwarming to see and hear singaporeans of all ages giving their thoughts and

dreams about singapore...... a child said he wans to be PSP Helper:) and another say he wants to be president...

the theatrical performance with 10 acts has a thematic flow...

ended with everyone saying their pledge which i laughed cos

there were 2 sentences i often tell my pupils when ever they sing their national anthem softly or say the pledge like memorising words...

"SAY WHAT YOU MEAN

AND MEAN WHAT YOU SAY"

it was a night we celebrate our nation's birthday,

and a reminder of how much we have gone through as a nation...

the young may not understand fully the extent but

i pray that at least when they sing national day songs, they

will one day understand what they are singing and the historical meanings behind it.
