P1 registration

Most schools including my school had balloting this year...
I started to feel stressed with so many school having balloting and I wonder
Rachel's chances of getting a good neighbourhood school is slim.

Getting into a good reputable school
Is very stressful for the child and parents
Be prepared to provide tuition for your child to catch up with her peers
As both are expected to perform due to school high standards
And teachers may overworked and overstressed too

New schools has pros and cons
Pros
Your child get to use all the new facilities
Get a space in student care in school
Cons
Your child becomes a Guinea pig for new styles of progammes
Teachers may be experienced but they also learning to adjust to new environment ( p and his school)

Finding an above average school is a challenge
As you need to look out for
Distance
Culture of school
Enrollment and the ethnic mix of pupils
Programmes provided ( any niche areas)
PSLE results

Open house is a good way to visit the  school premises and have a feel of yourself the environment of the school.
